Weeks 78 and 79, Continued. April 3, 2019 - Jeff and Amy's Family, plus Kent and Natalie's Family, Come to Visit

Wednesday, April 3rd -  Today we were blessed to receive more family visitors--Kent and Natalie's family!  The reunions are always so sweet and luckily we had almost the whole KFC to ourselves for our "Bucket Attitude" of gratitude!

Afterwards, the Sinsheim Museum with all its old cars, airplanes, tanks, and military equipment of the time was the Perfect Place for the kids to explore while the adults strolled along talking and reminiscing.

We then tried visiting the Heidelberg Castle, but it was raining so hard, we didn't get to stay long.  The best part of the day, though actually, was just sitting around together in our tiny apartment eating dinner and just enjoying being together!  We surely LOVE our family!

Thursday, April 4th - A cold, wet day in Frankfurt--no problem!  We spent the day visiting the temple site, introducing our family to our co-workers and letting them see where we work in the Area Office, showing them the Angel Moroni off The Hague Temple that needs repair that's in the warehouse, seeing the grandkid's excitement  at being able to eat at a Five Guys Restaurant in Germany, visiting Town Square and Locks of Love Bridge over the Main River, laughing at the Frankfurter garbage can in Frankfurt, stopping by to get some much needed hot chocolate, and finally allowing the kids to try to regain the Crown Five Championship from Gpa George!  He still holds the title, but those kids aren't going to give up trying.  Then it was off to bed for some very tired kids--and adults!

Friday, April 5th - A great day in Rudesheim!  The Rhine is such a beautiful river whether you're right next to it or overlooking it from high above!  We did both today!  We took the chair lift up the hill where we not only were able to see the beautiful Rhine, but also the grape vines that are beginning to look alive again!  We visited a fantastic musical museum that the kids and adults loved!  Then, we meandered down the quaint German streets and ate German waffles and stone baked pizza.  We ended the night with more Crown Five games!  Ethan won the crown tonight and definitely let his Gpa George know who beat him!

Saturday, April 6th - Our last day with Jeff and Amy's family before they go home tomorrow!  Kent and Natalie's family left this morning--there were definitely tears!  We knew we had to make this day special and the Medieval Easter Market at the 13th Century Ronneburg Castle was the perfect place!  So much to learn about medieval times with people in authentic costumes, court jesters, craftsmen and entertainers, a tower to climb, and Isaac and Lola even tried the stretching table in the torture chamber!  They definitely decided that wasn't the way they would ever want to be punished!  Such a great day!

Tonight, we listened to both sessions of General Conference, and Lola and I made chocolate chip cookies!  I am definitely going to miss my little assistant!

Sunday, April 7th - Today, we sadly took Jeff and Amy's family to the airport.  We loved being with all the family we have had so far and are looking forward to more coming in the future.  That actually helps us get through the tears each time we say good-bye!  I was especially torn up when I saw the tears just running down Lola's cheeks.  I will never forget that!

Since today was General Conference again, we were able to watch the Priesthood Session and the other two sessions later on after packing for the training trip that we would be leaving on the next morning.  Wasn't conference just the best!  I LOVE how it recharges your batteries and just makes you burst with joy at how grateful we are for our Savior and his gospel!  There are so many talks I can't wait to re-read and really study.  They were amazing!

Continued on next post - We fly to Warsaw!
