Dear Family,
I was just about to send my weekly email when I got the call from my sister, Natalie, that my dad had passed away in the night.
Oh, how my heart is broken--not for the fact that he is in a far better place having the best reunion ever with my mother! Just the fact that I will miss him so much and my dad was the biggest cheerleader and supporter of us being on this mission! He told me he would surely try to be there when we got back--and he almost made it! I could always count on him to do what he told me he would do. He continually told Gpa George and me that he was so proud of us being on this mission, doing something he would have loved to have done with my mother. He really wanted to go on a senior mission since he didn't get to go on a mission as a young man because of the war and him joining the military to serve his country. We kept reminding him that he served in two mission presidencies with my mother, but he really wanted to go on a mission with her. Well, now they can do that! They are going to be the best missionaries in the Spirit World! Their enthusiasm and testimonies are so solid and so unwavering--when either of them prayed, it wasn't a rote prayer--they truly were talking to God! My testimony began because of the faith of my parents--their service and love they gave to their family, their community, and to their fellowmen. I feel my siblings and I were some of the most blessed children on earth to be born into the family we did. I am so thankful for their love and encouragement throughout my life--I always knew I could do anything I set out to do because of their example of working hard at everything you do and trusting in the Lord to guide you. I am so thankful for that knowledge!
Thank you so much for all your love. I will let everyone know all the details and times for the funeral as soon as I receive them!
Much love, Gma Laura

Dear Family,
We finally got our tickets issued for our return home. Seeing those tickets really made it real that our mission is coming to an end. The flight details are as follows:
Tuesday, June 18th - Amsterdam to Salt Lake City- KL 6027 operated by Delta. Arrive at 12:36 pm in the afternoon.
We are planning to drive to Rexburg the next morning (Wednesday) and will stay there until Saturday morning. We will then be driving to Washington from Rexburg with Kent and NATAlie.
The viewing will be Thursday evening—not sure of the time yet, but I’ll let you all know. It will be in the Flamm Funeral Home. I guess they have a big chapel in there for lots of people to sit. The video will be showing. If you haven’t sent any pics yet, please go through and see if you can find any of you with Grandpa. Jenna sent me some that she found on my blog, which I thought was a great idea.
Friday, there will be another viewing at 9:30 am, then the funeral will be at 11:00 am. It will be at the Stake Center. I will get the address for you for that. By the way, there will be a grandchildren, great grandchildren song on the funeral program. I’ll let you know which song when I hear what it is. (That means all the spouses, too, because you’re all part of the family, too!).
After we go to the cemetery, there will be a luncheon. With about 180 in the Ray Rigby Family alone, we need to know for sure how many will be in attendance. Could each of you just let me know how many of you in your family will be attending.
Finally, hopefully everyone has a place to stay in Rexburg or Idaho Falls now. The only ones I wasn’t sure of was Cameron and Craig. Did you both find places?
Thank you again for all the love and support. You’re all the best family! LOVE ❤️ you all so much!
