Weeks 41 and 42 - July 11, 2018 - We Get Our First Visitors from Home!

Dear Family,

We were so excited to have family come and visit us in Moscow!
The Andersons arrived first--even though they had several stops to get here.
Kent and Natalie's flight was cancelled while they were on the run-way.  They arrived a day later!
Kevin and Hannah arrived two days later.  We finally had everyone here!

They all came for a visit and to be part of the FIFA World Cup of Soccer.  We filled our days with activities--I don't think we had one moment to just "vej," but it was great that way.

 Everyone loved the circus!

We rode the metro lots of times--sometimes they even had television screens so they could watch the games!

Hannah touching the dog's nose inside the Metro for good luck.
On Sunday, we all went to church together.  We stopped on the way to watch the pigeons.

Oh, how good it was to have family for Sunday dinner!
So many fun activities on Red Square.

On the bridge to Gorky Park.

Ethan got to play on a pick-up team with guys from all over the world.
 Their team never lost.

On our way to FIFA Fanfest by the University.

Heading for the dinner cruise in front of the Radisson Royal Hotel, which is actually one of the "Seven Sisters" of Moscow originally built by Stalin.
Although it was raining, it was beautiful gliding along the river.

Who should we run into on the river cruise but a couple of the guys Ethan had played basketball earlier with.  They said, "Oh, you're the kid that was hitting all the threes!"  They actually wanted him to hang out with them.  Hah!
The food was extremely slow in coming--I think they had to catch the fish Kevin ordered--and the food wasn't that good, but it was still a fun evening!

The inside of the hotel was absolutely luxurious!
